Automatic Paint Booth Systems

A spray booth, also known as a paint spray booth, is a specially designed enclosure for spray painting. It has several advantages, including isolating and removing overspray and vapour produced during spray application, which is particularly useful when coating metal surfaces with corrosion-preventive material. Additionally, the paint booth is fire and explosion-proof, making it a mandatory requirement for automobile body shops. By providing a dust-free environment, the paint booth improves the overall painting quality. Furthermore, the automotive paint booth comes equipped with an oven, ensuring proper drying, achieving finished paint quality, and preventing inhalation of hazardous fumes.

We have paint booths that work with both water-based and solvent-based paints. Our booths are efficient, reliable, and easy to use, with low power consumption. We offer different configurations to meet the needs of the automobile industry's various models.

Water Wash Paint Booths

This method is highly effective as it uses water as a filtration medium to eliminate paint particles from the air exhaust. The paint spray particles in the washing chamber are forced to twist directions, causing solid paint particles to be thrown into the water stream with significant force. These particles then move to the base of the chamber with the water and return to the tank. The air is exhausted through eliminator plates that remove any water trapped in the air. Even if the paint sludge builds up a few inches over the tank's surface, the booth's efficiency remains unaffected. Water wash booths are highly versatile and can handle a variety of paints with a broad viscosity range and drying speed. They are also flexible, adaptable, and durable.

Features & Benefits
  • Electrical pump for desired water curtain
  • Low running cost and negligible maintenance.
  • Advanced air washer design ensures high air washing / paint collection efficiency.
  • Best-in-class construction

Dry-Type Paint Booths

These paint booths use air pressure to remove harmful particles released during painting. An airstream carries these particles to a filter, while clean air enters from the ceiling through intake filters. The air then flows down around the painted parts and through filters under the floor grating to trap overspray. Filtered air is then released from the booth. This type of paint booth is more affordable than water booths and is commonly used for painting applications with low paint usage and in research.

Features:
  • Dry arrest without water and chemicals.
  • Simple maintenance.
  • Ideal for all paint applications.

Common Units

Downdraft Spray Paint Booth

This booth is specifically created to allow air to flow through the ceiling and exit through the floor. The pit-style booth is the most popular and common type, which utilizes an excavated pit and tunnel system to draw air from the centre of the booth floor. The other type is the raised floor or basement booth, which draws air by grating the base into a fabricated box that supports the entire booth structure. Various versions of downdraft booths have been developed based on specific needs and applications.

Semi Down Draft Paint Booth

This type of paint spray booth utilizes a hybrid design that incorporates the advantages of cross-draft and downdraft designs. Air enters through a supply plenum located at the front, and fresh, pressurized air is released through the top, flowing diagonally across and down towards the rear. The air then exits through the exhaust on the other side after passing through filters that capture overspray, leaving the air clean. This semi-downdraft design offers unparalleled control over temperature and air velocity flow, reducing overspray, removing finish contamination, and lowering installation costs.

Water Wash Ventury Paint Booth

This is a water spray booth that uses venturi principles for spray painting. Due to venturi action, the airflow forms a particular vortex-similar area behind the water curtain. Waste paint flows back to the tank due to water pressure. Thus, only a few waste air particles are ejected into the atmosphere from the exhaust. Typical advantages include:

  • Efficient paint filtering
  • Easy cleaning and maintenance
  • SS construction ensures long life cycle

Sub Units of Paint Booths

Spray Washing Chamber

These chambers are efficient, affordable, and small devices that use forced water to clean oil, emulsions, and chips from the surface of production parts. They enable universal cleaning without emitting fumes, reduce energy consumption, and are reliable and easy to retrofit.

Automatic reciprocator with encoder

This reciprocator has an AC motor and inverter control to maintain a constant speed. You can choose between two types: fixed-stroke and variable-stroke. It also offers five different stroke lengths ranging from 1500 to 2500mm, so you can select the best length to match your needs. The inverter-controlled motor allows easy adjustment of the travelling speed, depending on the conveyer speed and condition of the coated surface. Additionally, it provides excellent speed stability.

Paint Circulation System

The paint circulation system comprises several components: a paint container, pressure sensor, servo motor-driven pump, electronic servo drive, controller, paint applicators, and an isolation valve. The pressure sensor monitors the system pressure and sends a signal to the controller. The controller then regulates the servo pump, which draws paint from the tank and maintains the necessary pressure. The isolation valve is closed when the applicator is used, allowing the paint to flow towards it. The servo drive adjusts the pump speed to keep the desired pressure level detected by the pressure sensor. When no coating is needed, the isolation valve opens, and the servo pump motor runs at a minimum flow rate to circulate the paint back to the reservoir.

Robotics Painting

Using a robotic spray painting arm reduces the workload for humans in automotive spray painting applications. In the past, hydraulic spray painting was the norm, but now electronically controlled robotic painting is the trend. These modern robotic spray painting arms come in different sizes and payloads to accommodate various painting items of all sizes. Robots can precisely control spray angle, speed, and flow intensity, ensuring complete and consistent coverage over complex surfaces. The automobile industry widely uses robotic spray painting arms for detailing assignments.

Conveyors, Lifters, Trolleys, chain pulley

Depending on the specific needs, different types of equipment are utilized in paint spray booths. For instance, lifts are available in various styles and can either be self-propelled or rail-guided. They come with adjustable catwalks and can rotate on three or four axes. Additionally, conveyor systems, pulleys, and trolleys are utilized as needed.
